Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of India’s non violent independence movement against British rule.Mahatma Gandhi’s full name is Mohandas Karamchand Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi was born on the date of October 2,1869 .Mahatma Gandhi studied law and organized boycotts against British institutions.Gandhi was trained in law at the Inner Temple,London called the bar at age 22 in June 1891.

The  Champaran Satyagraha of 1917 was the first Satyagraha movement led by Gandhi in India and is considered a historically important revolt in the Indian Indepence movement . It was a farmers uprising that took place in Champaran district of Bihar, India,during the British colonial period.

The Salt March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, Dandi March and the Dandi Satyagraha, was an act of nonviolent civil disobedience in colonial India led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

With  the outcome of all the above struggle & sacrifice of the many leaders India  got its independence on August 15, 1947.Gandhi was assassinated on January 30, 1948.To remember the  great leader Gandhi every year 2nd October we  are celebrating Gandhi Jayanthi.
